A migratory fish
The European eel is a migratory fish. When they reach sexual maturity, the adults descend the river to the Atlantic Ocean in winter. They cross to the other side to lay their eggs deep in the Sargasso sea. Their lava follows the currents and returns to our coast, then goes up the river to join their parents’ habitat. They have no scales and secrete a lot of sticky mucus which makes it difficult to catch them in your hands.
