They swell and bristle when they feel threatened
The pufferfish is characteristic for its capacity to swell and bristle when it feels endangered. As a result their predators are afraid of them and don’t dare to eat them. Its front teeth are joined together to make a beak capable of breaking mollusc and shellfish shells, and even sea urchins.
